Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your Bogil (app.bogil.draw) account. There are two ways: from inside the app, or by email without opening the app at all.

In short: Profile → Delete account. It happens at once and cannot be undone. If you cannot get into the app, write to destek@bogil.app from the address on the account.

From inside the app

Open Bogil.
Go to the Profile tab.
Tap Delete account.
If you signed up with an email and password you are asked for that password. If you signed in with Google you are not, because you have no password with us.
Confirm. The deletion happens immediately.

If you cannot get into the app

If you no longer have the phone, have uninstalled the app, or cannot sign in, write to destek@bogil.app.

Write from the email address on the account. That is not us being difficult: checking the address is the only thing standing between your account and somebody else deleting it.

Requests are usually done within a few days and always within 30 days. We reply to the same address when it is done.

What is deleted

Your account: email address, display name, profile picture if you set one, and the hash of your password.
Your drawings, and their files - from the database and from storage.
The sentences and drawings you made in Chinese Whispers rounds.
Your pairing: the connection between you and the other person ends.
Your notification token: that phone stops receiving notifications.

Nothing is hidden, deactivated, or held for thirty days in case you change your mind. The rows are deleted. The database is not backed up, so a deleted record does not survive in a backup either.

What is kept

The other person's own drawings. They belong to them; deleting your account does not empty their sketchbook. Only the connection between you ends.
Server access logs. As with any request, your IP address and the time of the request are written to the server's access log. They are kept to debug problems and to notice abuse, they roll over after a short period, and they are not matched against your identity.

It cannot be undone

A deleted account cannot be brought back, and neither can its drawings. You can sign up again with the same email address, but you start with an empty sketchbook.
